Vaughan, Ontario – On Friday January 7th, the Honourable Julian Fantino, Minister of State for Seniors and Member of Parliament for Vaughan held the first official meeting with Vaughan Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua. The meeting highlights the collaborative commitment Minister Fantino and Mayor Bevilacqua share on advancing their mutual priorities on Vaughan’s economy, the hospital, and quality of life issues for Vaughan families. The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss pre-budget consultations and local solutions to the global economic recession.
“I am fully committed to our community, and I want to ensure the next federal budget reflects the values and priorities of Vaughan,” said Minister Fantino. “Consulting with Mayor Bevilacqua on local priorities is an important first step, as our government consults families and businesses on Canada’s next budget.”
Minister Fantino has long been an active member of the Vaughan community and is committed to local families and priorities, as his new duties as a Minister in the Government of Canada commence.
“The economy remains our government’s top priority,” said Minister Fantino. “This government will continue to implement our job-creating, low-tax plan and invest in Vaughan’s future. Earlier this morning I announced two investments in local companies through the Industrial Research Assistance Program. Our government’s investments is resulting in job growth for Vaughan families.”
