Woodbridge, November 11th, 2011
- The Honourable Julian Fantino, Associate Minister of National Defence and Member of Parliament for Vaughan, attended today's Remembrance Day ceremony hosted by the Woodbridge Legion Branch 414 at the Woodbridge War Memorial Tower.

"Today we join all Canadians in honouring those who have fought and died on the battlefield in service to our nation," said Minister Fantino. "We stand here as friends and neighbours to remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice to defend our values so that our community could be free and prosperous."

Minister Fantino placed a wreath to pay respects to Canadian soldiers who have fought throughout our history to defend our freedom. He also paid tribute to the brave men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces who continue to defend Canadian sovereignty so that we and our children might live in times of peace.

"Canadians are proud of the contributions that our brave men and women are making to peace and security, not only in Canada, but throughout the world," said Minister Fantino.  "The extraordinary legacy of our Canadian Forces both past and present continues to protect our freedom and create safe environments for people to live across the globe."
